Pantai Hospital Sungai Petani is located just a 5-minute drive from the North-South Highway (North Sungai Petani exit toll) and 20-minute drive from Sungai Petani, Kedah. The 120-bed hospital houses more than 35 specialist doctors who provide subspecialty services including general medicine, general surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, cardiology, ophthalmology, and orthopaedics.

Pantai Hospital Sungai Petani has consultants with extensive experience and well-trained staff who ensure that the community of Sungai Petani continuously receives a high level of quality health care.

Tio Bee Chan

Chief Executive Officer,

Pantai Hospital Sungai Petani

Tio Bee Chan is the Chief Executive Officer of Pantai Hospital Sungai Petani and Pantai Hospital Laguna Merbok.

Under her stewardship, Pantai Hospital Sungai Petani expanded its services with more sub-specialty services offered through the diversification of consultant recruitment. Among the services added were Oncology, Neurology & Neurosurgery, Respiratory Medicine, Dermatology, Orthopaedic Trauma and Endocrinology & Endocrine Surgery. The hospital also increased its number of licensed beds by 50% and attained Malaysian Society for Quality in Health accreditation.

Additionally, both Pantai Hospital Sungai Petani and Pantai Hospital Laguna Merbok synergised to improve resource management and services.

Tio has more than 22 years’ experience in the healthcare sector, joining Pantai Hospital Sungai Petani as Administration Manager to oversee the hospital’s operations. She was promoted to Chief Operating Officer and then to Chief Executive Officer of both Pantai Hospital Sungai Petani and Pantai Hospital Laguna Merbok in 2018.

She started her career in the healthcare industry as Senior Operations & Human Resources Manager at another private hospital for more than 10 years. Before she joined the healthcare sector, Tio worked for seven years in the manufacturing industry as Senior Administration & Human Resources Manager.

Tio represents Pantai Hospital Sungai Petani in the Allied Healthcare Centre of Excellence, an institution focused on the training and development of allied health professionals.
